Checkpoint Bethlehem

Director:
Søren Lind
Year:
2006
22 minutes

Director Lind checks in with Elias who has just returned to Palestine after a year in a Danish language school. Elias currently works as a tour guide in Bethlehem. The town is surrounded by the Israeli security wall, and the citizens can only travel a few kilometres in each direction. In the Christmas of 2005, for the first time in five years, Elias is granted a permit to visit Jerusalem, the capitol of Palestine, only ten minutes away. But the city is not how he remembers it.
