Guests and Performances:

Farah Nabulsi

Farah Nabulsi is an Academy Award-nominated and BAFTA-winning Palestinian-British filmmaker. She has been writing and producing fiction narrative films since 2016. Her first short film, Today They Took My Son, was endorsed by British director Ken Loach and screened at the United Nations.

Farah has been invited to serve as a jury member at numerous film festivals. She is also a voting member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

Nibal Malshi

Nibal Malshi is a Palestinian vocalist and songwriter born in Haifa and raised in Isfya Village on Mount Carmel. She began singing at age five and later earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Middle Eastern vocal performance and dance from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She has performed at prestigious venues across Palestine, Europe, and the United States, including Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, Roulette in Brooklyn, Flushing Town Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, and major events with the National Arab Orchestra in cities such as Detroit, Houston, and San Antonio. Malshi headlined benefit concerts at the Arab American Community Center and other venues, where proceeds supported emergency humanitarian relief for Palestine refugees in Gaza, using her art as a vehicle for advocacy and solidarity.

Ronnie Malley

Ronnie Malley is a multi-instrumentalist musician on oud, guitar, keyboards, and percussion, a theatrical performer, producer, and educator. He has collaborated with international artists, composed and consulted for many cultural music projects in film and theater, appeared as a guest artist on several works, and is executive director of Intercultural Music Production in Chicago.

Sumoud Collective

Sumoud Collective is an Arab music ensemble focused on activism and our steadfast resilience. The group consists of a rotating roster of musicians from the Chicagoland area who perform traditional and modern Middle Eastern songs about hope, resistance, and solidarity.

Palestinian Youth Ensemble

The Palestinian Youth Ensemble is an initiative by the Palestinian Youth Movement, with the intention of bringing together Palestinian and Arab musicians together to engage in cultural production as a site of struggle for national liberation, where culture is not a backdrop to the Palestinian struggle, but one of its most vital frontlines.
