2025, dir. Zain Duraie
Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France; 88 min.
In Arabic with English subtitles

In this poignant Jordanian drama, a mother named Nadia struggles to maintain a connection with her teenage son, Basil, as his mental health begins to unravel. After Basil is expelled from school for his behavior, Nadia finds herself caught between a judgmental society and her own initial denial of his condition. She devotedly follows him through various social settings, convinced that her presence and guidance can prevent further outbursts. The film serves as an intimate portrait of a mother’s desperate attempt to anchor her son before he drifts away entirely.
