Join the Chicago Palestine Film Festival for a special tatreez workshop led by the Badan Collective where participants will learn about the rich history of traditional Palestinian embroidery and experience hands-on instruction in basic tatreez techniques.

About the instructor

Bayan Fares

Bayan is a Palestinian writer, published poet, Licensed Social Worker, Tatreez Instructor, and founder of Badan Collective–a creative design house and educational space for tatreez (Palestinian embroidery). She founded Badan on the premise of keeping the tradition of tatreez thriving in the diaspora, which has allowed her to teach over 2,000 students across the nation and design multiple collections with artisans based in occupied Palestine.
